Within just a few days of each other, rescuers have had 2 terrible cases come into Hardeman Adoptable Animals. This campaign is to help both of these dogs who are both missing their legs.
The first was in regards to a young pup, only about five pounds. The animal control officer was called by a citizen of the county to pick her up. The person thought something was wrong with her leg. The officer went right to the woman's residence, and it didn't take long for her to realize that someone had put some sort of rubber band around the puppy's leg at some point in her young life. Her foot was now missing, and in its place was diseased tissue with maggots. Her leg had to be amputated. This puppy's name is Peggy.
Not long after the same animal control officer rescued Peggy, a different citizen of Hardeman County called about a stray dog in her yard. This second woman said that this dog's leg was just "hanging there". When the officer arrived she realized the gravity of the situation… The pup's leg was missing, like it had been ripped out by the shoulder. She had a terrible infection and was fighting for her life. Her leg was also amputated. After surgery, the pain was so severe that she pulled out her stitches and had to have surgery again. This puppy's name is Haven Rae.
We have partnered with Hardeman Adoptable Animals to help raise the funds needed for both Haven Rae and Peggy. I know these images are hard to see but PLEASE I cannot do this without you. I, again, am begging for you to help. With one simple shirt you can give both these babies a second chance at life every deserves. Will you join me?
