Rogue is a tiny pit who was used as bait.
We have created this tee shirt campaign to help raise the funds needed to save a dog used as bait.
On Saturday Southern States Bully Rescue was contacted by Orange County Animal Services (Florida) when Rogue came in as a stray. Upon intake she was noted to have maggots coming out of her deep laceration wounds. The clinic staff at the shelter cleaned out the wounds but she desperately needed to be released to a rescue organization as their clinic isn't full service.
Southern States Bully Rescue took her in, she immediately was transported to their Emergency Vet Clinic where she underwent Emergency care to put in drains and sew up the deep wounds. At this time due to the nature and severity (her wounds show ripping/tearing of flesh, there was areas where she was missing literal chunks of skin) of her wounds Doctors believe she may have been used for the barbaric sport of dog fighting.
The vet is also concerned because she cannot bare weight on her left leg which is the opposite side of her wounds. There is a buildup and her leg is swollen. The vet believes it to be an infection that spread to the bone from the raging infection gone untreated from her bite wounds. He is planning to do some additional testing tomorrow. Her wounds are horrific but she still maintains an amazing demeanor. So trusting in humans despite the pain she's in. Her road to recovery will be long but she’s so worth it.
UPDATE 10-5-18: Rogue's foster mom says she is the sweetest little pup she’s ever met. Rogue loves to run around the yard and stretch her legs. She still walks with a limp but the bone infection is improving. Soon all of that fur will grow back.
To help with all of the specialty care and vetting for Roque please consider purchasing one of her shirts, bracelets or coffee mugs below. With every purchase you can help Southern States Bully Rescue give her a second chance at life and love.
