Salma was found dragging her limp body across a street in Mexico.
Hundreds walked past a paralyzed and abused female dog and did not help. She was found dragging herself across a crowded street in Mexico.
After videos of Salma surfaced on Social Media NYBC knew she wouldn’t last much longer. Rescuers were able to connect with volunteers on the ground and commit to the care of Salma.
Salma was found on the side of the road, dragging herself, starving and with a large, visual mass on the side of her abdomen. We do not know if she is pregnant or has a tumor, but she was rescued off the streets and receiving an evaluation and medical treatment.
She has severe urine burns on her belly, very malnourished and her back paws are wounded from dragging herself. Know we are asking for your help in saving this baby girls life.
UPDATE 3-19-19: Salma still is unable to walk but she does have tail movement and pain sensitivity. BUT no control of her bladder so she must be expressed multiple times per day. She is not stable enough to begin chemotherapy for the sticker tumor and venereal cancer. This type of cancer comes from breeding and extremely common among street dogs. Her teeth are broken from trying to fill her hungry belly with anything she can find. Her stomach was filled with plastic, stones, bones, grass, trash and even wood. Please continue to help us save this very pup from Mexico.
We have created the animal saving products you see below to help raise the funds needed to cover the costs of her care in Mexico and transport to the states. We ask that you consider purchasing one of these items and help support the New York Bully Crew.
