Scrappy was used as bait then left to die.
We received a frantic call to help a dog used as bait in dog fighting. Of course we could not say no. Cindy of Imagine Pet Rescue said, “I sit here tonight and ask myself over and over why? What part of us as human beings find dog fighting a sport or entertainment?”
Today we make a promise to a victim of dog fighting. “You will never be fought again or be subject to the "human failures...." you are safe now and we will not stop until you are safe.
Scrappy is covered in old and new bite wounds. His ear is barely attached to his head and just hangs there. To add to that he is heart warm positive. His cowardly abuser dumped Scrappy after using him as bait.
I have a heartfelt and frustrated message from his rescuers, “To the POS that thinks its "fun" to fight your dog I hope someone takes you to a back alley and beats the tar out of you and lets you rot.”
Scrappy was rushed to an Emergency Veterinary Partner, Savannah Animal Care and Dr. Johnson. They jumped into action to get this poor "bait dog" the much needed medical attention he needed to survive. This is not going to be easy. He will need hundreds maybe even thousands of sutures to close the wounds on his face and body. Doctors and staff say despite the pain and torture he has endured he still showers them with love and kisses.
UPDATE: As you can see his "dog fight" wounds are healing nicely. He still has a long way to go He is Heartworm positive
