Stormy was shot in the face.
We have created the animal saving products you see below to help raise the funds to save a pitbull named Stormy who was shot in the face. She was shot intentionally but thankfully the bullet's path, so far, is not threatening to her.
As you can see in the x-rays, the bullet traveled fairly deep, but stopped before it reached her spine. Doctors found no breaks in the jaw bone. There is a lot of internal bruising, especially underneath her right eye and her vocal-chords, so she remains hospitalized and on pain meds to keep her relaxed.
She is be monitored to make sure any internal bruising/swelling remains managed and improves. The bullet does not pose a threat to her, so it will not be removed. However, she did have a fatty tumor from her back that we had removed. Despite what some monster did to her she is the sweetest baby girl and loves all her nurses and rescuers.
UPDATE 2-4-19: Stormy continues to do well in her recovery from being shot in the face. While she will carry the bullet for the rest of her life, she holds no grudges and still loves like she knows nothing else. She had a fatty tumor removed from her back which she has also recovered from. It takes a village and we need you.
We have created the animal saving products you see below to help raise the funds needed to cover the costs of Stormy’s care. We ask that you consider purchasing one of these items and help support our partners at Dallas Dog RRR save this incredibly sweet girl.
Dallas DogRRR is a group of dedicated, animal-loving volunteers who support the abandoned dogs of Dallas, Texas, by collecting supplies, paying vet bills, locating foster families, facilitating adoptions, and advocating for a more hopeful future. We are often seen even in the trenches of SE Dallas searching for and rescuing forgotten dogs. We have no administrative fees; no one is on payroll. Every single cent that is donated goes directly to paying for vet bills and food/supplies for our rescued dogs, as well as for boarding (for those that don’t have fosters). We are simply a group of volunteers motivated by the inspiring rescue stories that we get to be a part of every day!
