Tiberius was dumped in a shelter drop box with a huge tumor!
This sweet boy was dumped in a drop box at the Montgomery County Shelter. This poor boy was dumped with a huge tumor on back right leg. The tumor being so large he barely fit into the drop box. This is very painful for him. One shirt can help The Arrow Fund pay for the life saving surgery he needs!
A drop box is a container where someone can dump an animal after hours at a shelter. The Rutherford shelter says that without the after-hours drop box, people would abandon their pets outside, chain them to gates or toss them over the barbed-wire fence. Shelter workers say the boxes often contained animals in need of urgent medical care. Abused animals were common, as were family pets that were left to avoid paying the $20 intake fee.
Tiberius is a sweet boy and did not deserve to be neglected like this. Our partners at The Arrow Fund took one look at him and knew he would die without immediate intervention. They rushed the very sick boy to the Emergency Vets. The first step was stabilizing Tiberius as he is in very critical condition. He is on the strongest pain medication possible to keep him comfortable. Once he is stabilized surgery will need to take place to remove the large tumor. We are unsure at this point if we they save the leg. This surgery will cost The Arrow Fund a lot but we are here to help! Please, we hope you agree and will support the care Tiberius needs.

Amputation of his back leg was performed today on this sweet boy. He not only had the large tumor removed, he also had another smaller tumor, and a lymph node removed. All will be sent out for pathology. Tiberius is resting comfortably and is on sufficient pain meds post op. To amputate is a very big decision and The Arrow Fund did not take this lightly. This decision was made after all options were discussed. 3 board certified physicians with various expertise were consulted. Please keep him close to your heart tonight. The next few days will be critical for him. If you can support his recovery and surgeries please purchase one of his tees below.
We have some incredible news! Tiberius is finally up and walking on his own! Yes it will take some time for this little guy to get used to walking on three legs but we know he can do it! We are incredibly proud of him and his journey. He is so brave and so strong. He surgeries are a huge cost to his rescuers at The Arrow Fund. If you would continue to share his story and support this very deserving boy.
