Valentine was found in Peru with wounds consistent of being scalped.
Friends, we have been inundated with very graphic and injured dogs over the past few days. I know these photos are hard to see but please put yourself in Valentine’s place. We must not turn a blind eye to him, we need to focus on helping no matter how uncomfortable this makes us feel.
In the middle of the night our friends at New York Bully Crew went into action to save another soul from Peru. In the middle of the night a volunteer named Karina, in Peru, received a message that there was a dog barely moving, lying in the street. By the time she found the dog, the sun was up and he was moved to a sidewalk, just defeated, barley hanging on to life.
Valetine’s head has a horrific wound and the skin is decaying. He looks like he has been scalped. Karina heard a story from locals that he was repeatedly beat with a stick after begging for food.
Valiente was rushed to the emergency hospital in Peru. The doctor is stabilizing him and taking skin scrapings for a complete diagnosis. He will need a procedure to close the wounds and treat the infected and dying skin. Like with the other abuse case in Peru, Valentine cannot be transported to the states until he receives the care he needs in Peru. For that we are asking for your support once again!
We have created the animal-saving candle collection to help raise the funds for his procedures. Please consider purchasing one of these candles and share his story to help give Valentine the second chance he deserves.
New York Bully Crew
New York Bully Crew is a 501c3 not-for-profit rescue organization founded in December 2010. Though based on Long Island, NYBC’s outreach is nationwide. We specialize in rescuing Pitbulls, however no animal in dire need of rescue is turned away. NYBC strives to bring positive attention to the most loyal breed one could encounter, and give second chances to those who have been discarded by humans simply because of what they are…a Pitbull.
