Wayne was intentionally thrown from a moving car on the freeway.
A sweet pit bull named Wayne was deliberately thrown from a car and landed on his face. Our partners at Rescue Dogs Rock knew if they didn’t step in he would not make it through the night.
Wayne’s nasal cavity has been completely crushed and his gums and mouth have been obliterated. There is little left of his mouth. What you see here in this photo is Wayne’s nasal cavity completely peeled away from his nasal opening! This is bad. He was rushed into emergency surgery to save his life. PLEASE help us help him!
“He was spotted running down the highway, and an amazing person spent 40 minutes trying to catch him,” Rescue Dogs Rock wrote. “Blood was spurting out of his face onto her car seat, and she raced to the shelter where she knew they would take care of him. We got the plea and immediately agreed to help Wayne.”
For the next four hours underwent the complicated surgery to repair his crushed nasal cavity that had peeled away from his nasal opening, his gums and his mouth. Because of the horrific injury Wayne was not able to eat or drink; the surgery couldn’t wait.
Wayne remains in critical condition. He has a long road to recovery and is expected to remain at the hospital for a few weeks until he is stable and stronger. He will not be able to eat or drink on his own for the next few weeks.
We are here to help rise the funds needed for Wayne’s emergency surgery and care which will cost in the tens of thousands. To help save Wayne please consider purchasing one of his shirts, totes, bracelets and coffee mugs below. We have partnered with RDR to create these animal saving products to raise the funds needed to save him!
