Believe it or not Yoda had an owner once, about 2 to 3 months ago. We can't imagine he was a very good owner as Yoda’s present condition did not happen in just 2 months. His owner died and he was just " let out" into the neighborhood in a very rural part of AL. Apparently many of the neighbors continually saw him, did nothing, expect to throw stones at him and chase him away. After we heard this from witnesses we were beyond angry.
Yoda obviously was severely suffering but no one came to his aid. Finally, two months after his owner died, animal control was somehow alerted to Yoda’s plight and proceeded to trap him and bring him to the shelter. That is when we were called, as clearly Yoda is in grave medical condition and a shelter is no place for him. Clearly he will need extreme medical care and his road to recovery will be long and hard. RDR said, “These cases typically cost a small fortune to treat… We ask that you find it in your hearts to make a donation towards Yoda.”
Asides from having severe mange, he has heart worm, is heavily infested with worms, and has been eating trash in order to try to survive. At the Emergency Vets he is throwing up and pooping worms and whole pieces of garbage and rocks. This brought many of us to tears.
This poor soul has certainly hit rock bottom. Today is riddled with infection, emaciated with no hair, dehydrated and very weak. He's certainly seen the worst that humans have to offer and we hope we can turn his life around.
You can still help Yoda and his rescue Rescue Dogs Rock in their recovery by purchasing one of his shirts, hoodies, totes or bracelets that donate to his medical care! These make great gifts and each and every one helps save this discarded and unwanted soul. Help us give Yoda the second chance at life he deserves.
Rescue Dogs Rock, Inc., rescues puppies and dogs from high kill shelters, owner surrenders, puppy mill throw aways and medically neglected and suffering dogs and give them the proper medical care, then we do our best to find them the perfect home. We are deeply committed to healing the physical and emotional wounds these animals have suffered.
