Zeke: Suffering from a large ruptured tumor.
When PMAR took in their burn victim Phoenix, there was another serious medical case in the same shelter. Rescuers saw his picture and knew they had to bring him into their rescue as part of "& More" side of Pibbles & More Animal Rescue. They immediately went into action to save his life.
Originally labeled #162697, rescuers have named this guy Zeke because he needs the gift of strength right now. Poor Zeke has a grotesque tumor on the side of his neck as you can see from the graphic shelter picture below. Unfortunately, the tumor was allowed to grow and was not addressed or cared for so over time it ruptured and is now infected.
He is at the emergency veterinarians getting this tumor fully assessed and treated. Zeke has tested positive for heart worm as well. Zeke is definitely in a significant amount of discomfort. But this older bearded collie is a gentleman and a sweetheart in spite of it all. We are going to do everything we can for this sweet soul.
Please help us to help him! No more pain baby. Welcome to the PMAR and the Hendrick and Co family! Nothing but love from now on!
We have partnered with Pibbles and More Animal Rescue to create this week's animal saving t-shirt design! Please, if you can, purchase one of our Zeke + PMAR items below! With your help this poor baby boy will get the second chance at life he deserves!
[Update] Our sweet boy Zeke had his Postop surgery blood work and exam yesterday. Not only is he severely underweight ( he looks fluffy cause of all the fur) he is heartworm positive :(. Today Zeke went in for surgery to have his tumor removed. It was a half a pound tumor that just kept growing and growing. The surgeon was able to remove it all and it was sent to off to the laboratory for a biopsy. As far as surgeries go this one definitely seems like a success the tumor is removed and Zeke is already awake and will begin to heal and finally be treated the way he deserves.
Pibbles & More Animal Rescue
Pibbles and More Animal Rescue, Inc. is a foster based rescue located in Binghamton, NY. We are made up of fosters and volunteers who not only generously give their time but give of themselves. It is together through the collaboration of dedicated volunteers that we rescue dogs in NYC as well as from other states that use gas chambers for euthanasia. The majority of dogs we rescue are pit bulls but we do rescue all breeds.
