Zenon: Found defeated in the middle of the road
Zenon was left alongside a busy road in Miami with heavy traffic driving past. Nobody stopped.
At only 2 years of age, Zenon was found laying down, as if he had given up on life. He was emaciated, not neutered, covered in scars, littered with fleas and ticks and Ehrlichia positive. Zenon was completed defeated.
Zenon is now safe with 100 + Abandoned Dogs of Everglades Florida receiving all of the medical attention and love to restore his health. He is so grateful and nothing but love and kisses.
But, he has a long road ahead of him, both physically and emotionally. The rescue is working on helping Zenon gain weight, healing his scars and treating the Ehrlichia infection with heavy antibiotics. This is not an easy task. We do not know how long Zenon was out on the streets. He may have had an owner at some point and it breaks our heart that this loving creature would have been unwanted. The emotional scars may take longer. The rescue is determined to change his life around from this point forward.
Now, Zenon needs a community of support. Only with your help, together, we can give Zenon a new life...one shirt, one hoodie, one accessory at a time.
100+ Abandoned Dogs of Everglade
Over 3,000 dogs and 90 cats have been rescued by our group in the Everglades area of Florida (Florida City, Homestead and Redlands) and the surrounding areas of SE Florida. These animals have been abandoned by their previous owners and left alone to fend for themselves. Most are starving, full of ticks and at risk for several tick-borne diseases, heart worm, the elements and the wildlife and that is IF a speeding car doesn’t hit them first. We strive to bring awareness to the severity of the problem we have with countless starving, abandoned animals on the streets of the Everglades area.
