Enza was dragged into a Mexico shelter by her armpits.
This emergency case is SEVERE and time sensitive. All four of her legs are shattered and broken. She has broken ribs and needs a skin graph! While on a volunteer trip at a town shelter in Ensenada, Baja California a little girl literally dragged Enza into the shelter by her armpits. Dragging her limp legs behind her. The dog looked horrific, she had two full casts on the front legs, a cast on the back leg and bandages on the other.
They laid her on the dirty couch and tried to feed her, but she was extremely out of it and in massive pain. When asked what happened to their dog, the shelter owner said she was hit by a car. That is when NYBC was contacted and immediately accepted full medical responsibility and committed to saving Enza. In Mexico most don't have access to veterinary care.
Rescuers had to rush Enza across the border and into the states straight to an Emergency Hospital who was ready and waiting to spring into action. They learned horrific news. She had what appeared to be an at home staple job to one of her legs. Meaning, with no pain medication, her owners put staples into the wounds on one of her legs.
Enza is facing MULTIPLE emergency surgeries to repair 3 of her shattered and broken legs. One of the legs was too far infected and septic and will need to be amputated. She will need surgery to repair her broken ribs and have a skin graph on one leg. Since she is only 8 months old she able to survive this ordeal and start her new life here in the states! She is a fighter! But we need your help!
Her medical care is extensive and costly but she has not given up and NEITHER will NYBC! We are sponsoring Enza’s care with one of our Never Stop Saving Animals t-shirts, tote bags and more. If you can consider one for yourself or a friend and help this innocent victim survive the condition she is in. Rescuing should not have borders!
UPDATE 11/11/19 All the stars aligned for Enza and her foster dad is quite smitten with this special little girl! Sweet Baby Enza has been through so much and NYBC is overjoyed to announce she has her very own foster family to help nurse her back to health and recover from the extensive surgeries she has had to save her.
ENJOY ALL THE LOVE ENZA! Thank you to her foster daddy and to New York Bully Crew!
