Kammie mouth is covered in infection and rotten teeth.
Why do you get a pet to only neglect it then dump her to die at a county shelter. These shelters are overrun with animals with little funding and even less support. Tiny Kimmie came into the shelter with an owner who requested that she be euthanized! Yes, you read that correctly. The NYC Animal Control reached out to our partners at Rescue Dogs Rock. They of course said yes to saving tiny Kimmie. What doctors found next was something they were not prepared for.
She was rushed to the Emergency Vet where they began treatment. Once opening her mouth they realized the gravity of just how bad Kimmie was neglect. So badly that most of us would classify this as abuse. These photos don't begin to tell the story of pain she has endured. Her teeth are literally rotting, covered in infection, in tarter build up and riddled with decay. Now imagine having a simple tooth ache and how much that hurts. Now imagine your entire mouth throbbing with that same pain in every tooth. I can’t begin to fathom how much that must hurt.
Kimmie has been stabilized and put on very high doses of pain medication. Which means she will be healthy enough to have surgery on Monday and then be ready to move on to a new life! Kimmie didn't want to die. She has lots of life left to live, all 4.8 pounds of her! Rescue Dogs Rock did the work in rushing this baby from the shelter now they need our help! My heart breaks looking at their photo. Will you please help us help her?
