Tank: Found abandoned by FedEx employees!
It was a very rainy spring night in Dallas when the employees at FedEx found a surprise right outside their door. A small puppy, maybe seven pounds, was sitting in an open box. He was dumped there to die.
He was huddled in the corner, soaking wet from the storm and mostly bald. When they approached he put his paws on the side of the box and his tiny black eyes begged for help.
Uncertain what to do with this helpless creature, they brought him inside, dried him off and fed him some pizza. Even in his terrible condition, the little guy wagged his tail and begged to be petted. They posted pictures on an animal advocate Facebook page pleading for someone to pick him up and provide the medical care he needed. Luckily someone agreed to drive out at eleven at night and pick him up.
The puppy was picked up by a volunteer from Apollo Support and Rescue. They named him Tank because even though he was almost hairless, he was solid as a rock. Baby Tank wash rushed to the emergency vet where he was diagnosed with a severe case of sarcoptic mange. His skin also had a secondary staph infection. A few ticks were removed from his tiny body and his tummy was filled with internal parasites. He received treatment and even though his skin was itchy and covered in scabs, his sweet and trusting personality shone through.
We have partnered with Apollo Support and Rescue to help raise the funds needed for Tank's care. Please consider purchasing an item below to help save this tiny baby boy. This kind of abuse needs to stop. Will you join us?
Apollo Support & Rescue INc
Our organization rescues dogs from local North Texas animal shelters or dogs trying to survive from abuse or neglect and living a hard life on the street. If only dogs could talk we would know more about their history and where they came from. They may have scars, been abused or abandon or just lost their way. Our goal at Apollo is to be a stepping stone to care for them and place them in homes that believe in second chances.
